    Best Actor: GH's Maurice Benard
    GH's Maurice Benard(Sonny). The most mesmerizing and romantic figure in soaps today, he shakes up our sensibilities-then shatters them-as a deadly, maniacal mob boss prone to sudden bouts of decency and heroism. That Benard has not won an Emmy for this epic performance is more than an egregious oversight. It's a scandal.

    Best Actress: GH's Nancy Lee Grahn
    GH's Nancy Lee Grahn(Alexis). As the righteous lawyer with a deep, dark secret (her baby was sired by the aforementioned mob boss), this fan favorite gives a dazzling almost impossibly complex performance that is sad, brittle, erotic, tragic, savagely intelligent and sometimes so laugh-out-loud funny it'll make you snort. Grahn raises the bar for every other actor in soaps, then hurdles over it.

    NLG: "I like that Alexis is serious. I like that she's neurotic. I like that she can't express her feelings. I like that she can express her feelings. I like her very multi-dimensional. His character is also very dimensional. But I like her dimensions. Otherwise, I'd get bored."

    MB: "I'll be honest with you, you can do a lot more with her character than you can with mine. It's not easy to write this character. With Alexis, you could do a lot of stuff. You could do comedy, fun, this, that. You could do it all. Mine, whatever my character does has to come from a real place, otherwise, it's not going to work. It's been proven."

    Male Call: While screen time with the ladies has never been lacking for Maurice Benard (Sonny), he feels that his criminally inclined character could benefit from some guy time, as well. "You could get Mike, Ron Hale, to come in more-as long as he (says more) than, 'Son . . . you all right? Sonny, how's it going?” grins Benard. "And I'd like to see Real (Andrews, Taggert) more often, too. There's a history there with Taggert (and Sonny) that's not being taken advantage of. So, I want to work with both of them. That would be fun."

    The talk is about GENERAL HOSPITAL's Sonny and Alexis: Sexis. Supporters of this couple are clamoring for them to be reunited and for Sonny to learn that Kristina is his daughter. In fact, since GH aired its Fan February episode, in which Alexis revealed the truth to Sonny, viewers have been sending letters to ABC Daytime President Brian Frons pleading to make the fantasy a reality.

    Supporting Actress/Plot Twist Award Winner Grahn: "I just didn't know what to say when we got the award]. I'm just like, "We got an award for having sex?' The thing is, Maurice and I are really great friends, but prior to that episode we had not physically touched each other. And those scenes -- it looked lie we were missing each other alot. so, I challenged him to a love-off, and now we're waiting."
