RECAPS (week of March 10 through March 14, 2003):

Sonny knows that the bullets fired were meant for him. He orders Benny to find out who ordered the hit. Taggart asks who’s trying to kill him. He leaves and says that he’ll handle Faith. Later on at the hospital, Elizabeth blames the shooting on Sonny, telling him that he doesn’t care about anyone but himself. Sonny tells Carly that he fired Jason.

You-know-who gets Alexis out of the hospital and over to the gatehouse so that she can visit with Kristina. Ned shows up and doesn’t like the idea of Alexis there with HER baby.

Again Sonny tells Carly that she and Michael should leave town to be safe and again she says no - she will only leave town if Sonny comes, too, which of course he cannot – what with having fired Jason and having an assassin after him and all. Later Jason shows up at the penthouse and informs Sonny that the shooter was hired by Faith. He asks whether or not Sonny wants him to take care of her but Sonny tells him that he will only accept him back if he breaks off with Courtney. Jason refuses and Sonny throws him out.

Faith comes back to her room and finds Sonny there. He warns her that she has established a pattern and offers her a glass of sherry, which she refuses. Sonny tells her that he won’t hesitate to harm her because she has put his family at risk and that it will cost her and how he won’t miss when he comes after her. Benny shows up and tells Sonny that the hit was ordered out of Miami. Sonny tells Benny to leave. Before Sonny leaves, he warns faith that she will pay for the things that she has done.

Edward visits with Alexis in the hospital and tells her that she should never see Kristina again. She becomes distraught and He Who Appears At Every Turn appears (yet, again) and throws him out. Then He Who Knows All suggests that she pull herself together if she is ever to have a chance to be with her daughter.

Zander visits Alexis in the hospital and warns her that Scott is determined to get her. Zander tells Alexis that she is depending on the wrong person by putting her life in the hands of the Stalker-Shrink , who of course, shows up and assures Alexis that he can convince a jury to exonerate her. Scott shows up and tells her that she has a date in court the next day since the judge did not grant a postponement. Scott insists that he will prove to the judge that Alexis is faking DID.

Sonny visits Ric in the hospital and asks how he wants to be compensated for taking that bullet. Ric is insulted since he was sure that his being shot would get him in good with Sonny once and for all. Later Carly tries to convince Sonny to get Jason back but he refuses. Benny shows up and tells Sonny that The Five Families have called a meeting. Sonny tells Benny to go as his representative. Benny is horrified at the thought, telling Sonny that he is only an accountant and that he is not the right choice. Sonny orders Benny to go, telling him that he will have protection. Ric shows up and offers to attend the meeting for Sonny but Sonny tells him that he needs someone that he can trust. Benny reluctantly leaves for the meeting. Ric tells Carly that Sonny sent Benny to the meeting and she hunts down Jason to tell him he same thing. He calls Sonny and offers to go to the meeting for him, telling him that sending Benny is not a good idea. Sonny tells Jason that he can have his job back only if he ends his relationship with Courtney.

In court, Scott gets He-Who-Must-Always-Be-Seen to admit that Alexis could be faking DID. Ned testifies that he saw Alexis on the docks dressed as Kristina. Dara calls Scott himself to the stand and gets him to tell about how Alexis as Kristina came after him with a knife. She calls Alexis to the stand and gets her to tell all about her association with Alcazar and how she has no memory of things that she has done. Dara tries to goad her into being Kristina but Scott doesn’t buy it.

Sonny accuses Carly of spying on him and she defends herself. Things go well at the meeting until Benny collapses on the floor. By the time Sonny gets there, Benny has died in Jason’s arms and Jason yells at him for sending Benny to the meeting in the first place. Sonny justifiably blames himself for Benny’s death and wonders whether or not Faith killed him.

Back in court, Alexis as Kristina grabs a letter opener and comes after Scott. When What’s-His-Name gets in the way, his hand is injured. Alexis as Kristina grabs Scott and threatens to make him pay. Scott insists that it is all an act. The Good Doctor convinces the judge to let him work with Alexis to bring her out of her Kristina personality but he cannot seem to do it. When Ned leaves because of an emergency with his baby (after a message from Edward to the baby’s nanny), Alexis calls out to him, prompting Scott to welcome her back. After summations from both sides, the judge says that she doesn’t need to deliberate, that she can render her decision immediately.

On the docks, Taggart is questioning Jason and Sonny, wondering why Benny was at the meeting instead of Jason. Carly and Courtney show up as Sonny tells Jason that he should have been at the meeting but he chose to disrespect Sonny instead. Courtney leaps to Jason’s defense and Sonny blames her. Jason defends her and tells Sonny that he has been nothing but loyal to him. Sonny shoots back that Jason doesn’t know the meaning of the word, which enrages Jason.
