RECAPS (week of March 3 through March 7, 2003):

Sonny suggests to Carly that she may be pregnant and she starts to worry that if she is, the baby may actually be Ric’s. They go to Carly’s club and find out that Catherine is dead. Sonny questions Faith about it just before Carly orders her out of the club.

Cameron accuses Alexis of faking DID and she denies it until he pushes her to admit the truth. She tells him that she killed Alcazar accidentally and that she lied because she was afraid of losing her baby if no one believed her story . She begs him not to give her away and he leaves.

Sonny finds out that Catherine’s death was from natural causes.

Needless to say, The Ever-Present Shrink tells Alexis that he covered for her with the police but warns her that Scott probably believes that she is faking.

Jason warns Sonny that an assassin is coming to Port Charles.

Alexis signs papers allowing Ned to take the baby home from the hospital after he promises to bring her back as soon as Alexis is well.

Sonny continues to push Carly into taking a pregnancy test. Jason informs him that the shooter’s name is Sam.

Jax visits Alexis and tells her that he has hired an attorney to represent her. Gia shows up and warns Alexis that Scott intends to prove that she is faking DID by having expert witnesses testify. Gia asks whether or not she is and Alexis vehemently denies it. Then she worries that she will lose her baby forever if she cannot fool the experts.

Sonny and Jason figure that Ned must be paying for Sam the Hitman, since Faith has no real money to play with. Sonny realizes that his only option is to wait for the hitman to make his move. Carly’s test shows that she is pregnant . Sonny vows to take care of her and the baby no matter what but they tell no one. Carly tells Courtney about it, though, and Courtney congratulates her and Sonny. Then Sonny learns that Catherine left a sizeable inheritance but doesn’t know if Faith was the beneficiary. Sonny worries that Faith has all the money she needs to pay for the hit on him.

Sonny beefs up security. While he’s out of the room, Ric answers a call from the Carly’s obstetrician about scheduling her pre-natal visit. When Sonny returns, Ric gives him the message. Ric begs Sonny for a chance to be a trusted employee and Sonny tells him that no one is to know about Carly’s pregnancy. When Carly returns and finds out that Ric knows about her pregnancy, she lies to Sonny (oh, what a surprise...) and blames her reaction on hormones.

Jason tells Sonny that he wants to be with Courtney and reminds him that no one has the right to make decisions for anyone else. They argue and Sonny fires him . Jason insists that he won’t leave Sonny unprotected with an assassin on the loose but Sonny orders him out of the penthouse.

At Carly’s club, Benny keeps an eye out for anything suspicious. A gunshot rings out and everyone drops to the floor.
