"...Manic Depression is uh a large part of my acting. In order to get strength you have to deal alot with pain. As you guys know I've dealt with alot of pain, and I use my nervous breakdown in my work all the time, all the time. When you see things,I'm going right to those places and so they've written me that way and it's a beautiful connection..."
What was your favorite all time storyline?
"My favorite storyline...okay like a few of them...
The AIDS storyline, very touching. When Lily got blown up was another one but I think uh the breakdown that I just had was...The breakdown story was a tough one because it went on for a month straight and my wife would look at me and say "Are you alright?" I said yeah I'm fine, fine meanwhile I'm unsteady (he makes gesture) but I held on and when it was over I was glad because it took alot out of me cause I went to places that maybe I shouldn't have gone, but it was well worth it because we got a great story and hopefully it will win me an emmy next year."
Describe the scenes that you submitted for your emmy nomination, were there any runners up?
"One was with Alexis where I'm claustrophobic in jail. You have to understand something, last year I had not a good year so truly there were only two shows, no I watched ten shows they sucked but there were two shows that I knew when I read it, when I did them and when I finished that they were... I'll be honest I ain't gonna bull #@$% you, they were emmys. I just knew it. When I did that church show God doing monologues to God, we did all of those in one take cause I had an audition and I had to get out of there by lunch, and it was one take bam bam bam bam and when I saw the finished product I said oh man I gotta win now. So those were the two shows one talking to God and the other when I was claustrophobic."
